Professor Elton Mayo Hawthorne developed a thesis arguing thatthe most influential factor towards productivity is human relations.Professor Elton carried out research and concluded that productivityincreased when an individual was part of a group. Each input producedby one person contributes to a higher whole output in the firm. Eltonstated that with increased attention from the researchers, theworkers were more motivated and productivity enhanced.
Thistheory argues that when an employee is treated with respect andvalue, he will increase the productivity quality and value to supportthe organization. Individuals desire to hold a significant meaning tothe team. The human relations theory addresses human relationships asthe key factor in improving productivity and efficiency in theorganization (Cummings, 2016). On the other hand, the principleobject of management aims to secure the maximum prosperity for theemployer, and the employee. Scientific management focuses on ensuringthe development of all the branches of the organization. This theoryevaluates how the individual can facilitate the growth of theorganization when fully participating in work.
Themaximum prosperity of the employee means that the organization shouldbe able to foster his/her growth. The employee should be able to growboth in terms of wages and skills. This management theory argues thatthe maximum prosperity of the employer must be accompanied by theadvancement of the employee. To some extent, the human relationstheory serves as an alternative to scientific management. Humanrelations theory fosters the maximum prosperity of the employee bycreating a favourable environment. The theory motivates the employeeto develop the highest success of the employer and vice versa.
Knowledgeis power, and without it, the organization would be deemed physicallychallenged in regards to growth and development. The modern world isvery dynamic in nature. Organizations have to conduct researchthoroughly to keep up with the changing times. The people within anorganization offer knowledge and skills that vital for success. Forinstance, a pizza producing team is more likely to turn to itsmarketing manager to handle the current marketing practices. In thiscase, the marketing manager must provide well-researched market datato market the company’s product.
TheLegibility of the knowledge that individuals in an organization have,holds for the efficiency and productivity of the business (Cummings,2016). The knowledge that individuals have constitutes the set ofskills necessary for the operation of the organization. These set ofskills put together facilitate productivity and efficiency in theorganization. Therefore, the knowledge that each particularindividual has is likely to make up the productive environment of thebody. In management practice, it is important to create new ways ofgaining access to new knowledge. A manager should be able to supportthe study of new working approaches to facilitate growth.
Individualsholding excellent skills for work can develop the company andthemselves. The people’s way of thinking is central to the way theyapproach the organizations production patterns. One would argue thatthe quality of the team’s production depend on the methods andmeasures instituted. Therefore, the knowledge and set of skillsretained by the agency are central to accomplishing the set goals.
