Most of the students within the high school areimmigrants who lack adequate English knowledge. Due to thediversified cultures, as a therapist, I ought to be sensitive not todemean their beliefs. Apart from the immigrant children, the schoolalso hosts students whose parents are in the military. Such studentsmove from one country to another regularly. In that regard, they findit hard to make new friends or form strong relations. Thisintegrative approach will look to comprehend the various experiencesof these students and derive an effective plan on how to assist them.

Allthe counseling theories are valid in this case. This is because allof them apply distinct techniques to tackle particular issues.Nevertheless, some theories are more suited for the day to day schoolcounseling. In addition to that, they are more applicable to studentshaving emotional challenges.

TheAdlerian Therapy is chief among the key techniques I would adopt. Asper this technique, human behavior does not necessarily depend on theenvironment and heredity. The human nature strives to attain success,perfection, and completion. In that respect, everybody is capable ofinterpreting, influencing, and developing activities. Comprehendingeach other’s systems is core to understanding people. In otherwords, it is appropriate to have detailed information about people toeffectively understand them. Therefore, concerning the high schoolstudents, I would collect detailed info about them regardingattitudes, challenges, and goals among others. I would also want toknow their perception of life. This phenomenon is referred to asphenomenological that involves a person’s feelings, conclusions,convictions, thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, and values. All theseelements are distinctively evident in each. According to the AdlerianTherapy, encouragement is a powerful feature that can be utilized tochange an individual’s beliefs. By encouraging the students, it iseasier to influence their future choices. By focusing on the futuregoals, I would help the students to comprehend themselves to makeappropriate choices. ThePsychoanalytic Therapy is also appropriate in this case. As per thistherapy, the unconscious power can influence how we behave, think,and feel. In addition to that, dreams are effective elements thatassist individuals to realize their central struggles, visions aboutthe future, and internal conflicts. As entailed in the therapy, pastdeeds, and early distressing childhood experiences can preventindividuals from living healthily and happily. People grow sociallysolving various events in their life. A core issue among high schoolstudents is the identity versus role misperception conflicts. It isan adolescent group striving to identify acclimatize to the differentbody changes. At this transitional stage, most of them get confusedand make inappropriate decisions that are injurious to their futures.Therefore, in this therapy, I would use lifestyle assessment methodproposed by Adler to establish the family backgrounds of thestudents. Additionally, it would reveal their childhood experiencesthat may be impacting on them currently. This technique willeffectively determine factors influencing the student’s futurechoices. Realitytherapy is another important part of the approach. It is founded on anotion that mental illness emanates from a person’s unsatisfyingcurrent relations. In order to maintain stable relations, we mustavoid force, blame, complain, coerce, or blame. The destructivebehaviors ought to be replaced by favorable ones such as caring,encouraging, love, acceptance, support, listening, and trusting.People have five primary needs, i.e. love and belonging, survival,fun, freedom, and power. Acceptance of personal responsibilityassists people to avoid putting the blame on others whenever there isan issue. Utilizingthe Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) will also be a chiefresponsibility of my approach. The way people perceive problemscontributes to their psychological disorders. This therapy will assist adolescents who areentangled in low self-esteem issues while attempting to identify withthemselves. The theory champions realization of negative thoughts andreplacing them with positive ones. It is my role to discover thenegative thoughts in my patients, and help them to become positivethinkers. It is also my belief that an individual requires relatingclosely with another person to become emotionally stable. Counselingconcepts I would employ

Byusing the Cognitive Behavior Therapy, my students and I will explorethe prospected advantages and barriers that may affect change. Iwould then assist them to realize how they can effect changesuccessfully. The first bit would be to set realistic goals that areachievable either in the short or long terms. The achievable targetswill boost the student’s morale. I would initiate a motivationalinterview section to assist the students in creating divergencebetween what is ideal and the present situation. That way, they wouldfeel comprehended thereby confronting the resistances. Self-efficacywould be attained through reinforcements to motivate the students andmake them understand that change is not impossible. The scales ofchange criterion will be used to assist the students to achievesuccess. In this criteria, the student notes down the things he/sheanticipates to do, and on one side place the benefits it would bringas well as the negative impacts. TheRational Behavior Therapy (ABCDE) is another component that I mustutilize to deal with students having irrational beliefs.
