The viability of the career readiness programswill offer valuable resources and services after the collaborationwith businesses, educators, and community members. However, we needfurther resources such as instructors willing to volunteer theirtime, business funding, grants, as well as, state and federalfinancial support. The outcome of this proposal is to offer jobreadiness workshops and professional development training coursesdesigned to help participants to be marketable.
Statementof the Problem
The primary problemis the lack of funding for the career readiness programs, which willresult in the elimination of the education curriculum. For the career programs to be successful, the partnership ofcommunity task force will be developed. The Director and AssociateDirector of the adult education have decided to partner with theEducational Services Officer from the local military base, theSuperintendent from Grand City School District, the Adult EducationDirector from the One-Stop Community Center, the owner of the localorchard, and the CEO of a local technology company. The roles of eachtask force will be discussed next.
The Director andAssociate Director of the Adult Education program will oversee thedevelopment and implementation of the job readiness and trainingprogram. This is to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of allstudents and adult learners. The Director and the Associate Directorwill acquire feedbacks, suggestions, and inputs from community taskforce. They will ensure the biweekly meetings focus on the agenda.
The next partnershiprole is with the Educational Services Officer from the militaryinstallation. The forces representative will be the liaison for thearmy leaders and communicate transitioning martial service needs. The development of the entrepreneurship education program willbenefit the community because the small business owners can help indeveloping business skills curriculum program that is in high demand.
A big portion of thecareer development centers funds comes from the government. As aresult, the One-Stop Community Center is in risk of eliminating theeducation and job readiness programs as monetary cuts from state andfederal emerge.
